What is Ario?
Ario is a GTK2 client for MPD (Music player daemon). The interface used to browse the library is inspired by Rhythmbox but Ario aims to be much lighter and faster.
It runs on Linux and Microsoft Windows.
Ario 1.0 is out !

After several months of development, the first major version of Ario has been released.The main changes since the last version are :
- Plugins support with already several plugins:
- A Wikipedia plugin
- A file system browser plugin.
- An audioscrobbler plugin
- A multimedia keys plugin
- "Web Radio" source becomes a plugin
- Complete reorganisation of the cover and lyrics systems to have different covers providers and be able to activate/desactivate and reorder them.
- Automatic download of album covers when a song is played
- Add the possibility to search for similar artists on last.fm.
- Remove the dependency on gconf. Add a new config serialization engine (in XML).
- Automatic reconnection when profile changes
- Add a progress bar when Ario connects to MPD.
- Add different icons depending on playing state
- Add the possibility to get album covers from music directory if mpd is on localhost
- Add a "go to playing song" command
- Microsoft Windows version
- Add new translations: Catalan, English (GB). Hebrew, Hungarian, Italian
- Performance enhancement and bug fixes.

Ario 0.4 is out !

The fourth release of Ario is out.The main changes are :
- New artworks.
- New functionality : Songs and albums properties.
- Add MPD statistics in preferences.
- Add the possibility to enable/disable audio outputs.
- Add a "lazy mode": the synchronization with MPD is disabled when Ario is hidden.
- New sexier tooltip on tray icon.
- Performance enhancements and bugs fixes.
- New translations.
